Parking

Parking Application Form

    • Along with this application, the resident must provide a parking payment of $260/term (Sept-Dec, Jan-April, and May-August)
    • Parking spaces are first come, first served. Spots are not assigned, all vehicles must display valid permit at all times

    NOTE: This application does not guarantee you a parking spot. You must make your parking payment to confirm your request and wait for confirmation from management. Parking payments are available on a 4-month basis only and are non-refundable, unless cancelled and requested before the term has begun.

  • A $10 fee must be paid for each pass. See the online Parking Policy for information. You acknowledge that you have read and understood the Parking Policy. All new parking pass requests are placed on a waiting list to allow renewals first right. New parking passes will be allocated 1 month before the start of the requested term. This application does not guarantee a parking spot. Parking spaces are allotted on a first come, first-served basis You will be contacted by email within five business days let you know whether a spot has been assigned to you or not. Because we use email to communicate, it is your responsibility to provide us with your correct email address and to check your messages regularly.

Amenities & features

Complete with a full gym, lounge, study rooms, and model suite,  the | w ‘s brand new 4000 square foot community and amenity building known to our residents as the | junction and located at 190 Sherwood Forest Square, in the center of our community.

Coffee

Need a cup of joe? In the | junction you will find a fully stocked coffee machine for $1 a cup along with other vending machines, you can be caffeinated day and night for those long study sessions.

Board Game Rentals

Need a study break?  Get together with your new roomies and play some board games!  Free to rent from the office.

Storage Lockers

We have storage lockers available for rent for the | w residents on a first-come-first-serve basis. We rent the limited number of lockers on a 4-month term basis (September 1 – December 31, January 1 – April 31, and May 1 – August 31). The cost is $200/term and is due prior to receiving a key for your locker. If you are interested in renting a locker, please fill in the application form below.


Storage Locker Rental Request Form

  • Fill out this form to sign up for a storage locker. They are rented on a first come, first served basis and we make them available on 4-month school terms. The rate is $200/term. You will be notified via email if you have secured a storage locker and will be required to make payment to complete the reservation process. A copy of your responses will be emailed to the address you provided.

  • The resident agrees to remove all contents from the rented locker & return the key to the | w team by the last date of the rental contract as per the below terms.
  • All residents should have tenants insurance, which would also cover their storage locker contents.
  • The resident shall not use or permit the unit to be used for storage of flammable substances, fertilizers, explosives, animals, or any other hazardous materials or substances or other articles which may constitute a nuisance, hazard or danger to the landlord, the premises, and/or other residents. The resident shall not introduce any heating device into the unit.
  • The resident assumes all risk in relation to the loss or damage to the contents of personal property of the resident in the unit from any cause whatsoever. The resident should have TENANTS INSURANCE to protect their belongings. The landlord shall have no responsibility or liability for the loss or damage to such contents from any cause whatsoever. The resident, and the resident on behalf of the insurer, shall waive any rights of subrogation to any claim that the resident may make to that insurer or against the Landlord for any liability relating to the loss of, or damage to, such contents or personal property. The resident hereby agrees to indemnify the Landlord and all their related agents, and to hold and save the Landlord harmless from any loss, damage, expense, or claim arising from the resident’s act’s or omissions, and the Landlord shall not be liable to the resident for any loss or damage that may result from, or through the act or omission of other residents or of any other person. Live animals are not to be stored in the locker.
  • Entry of Locker Unit by Landlord: The Landlord reserves the right to enter the unit without notice, for the purpose of inspection whenever the Landlord deems that repairs are necessary, any hazardous condition exists, or for any other breech of this agreement.
  • Upon vacating the locker, the resident is responsible to clean their unit. Provided that the Landlord is satisfied with the condition of the unit and it is left in an undamaged and clean condition, there will be no chargebacks for extra cleaning or damages to the resident. The resident shall notify the Landlord when all contents have been removed from the unit, including the resident’s lock. The resident shall be liable for rent until all conditions for vacating are fulfilled. The Landlord may deem the unit abandoned along with the contents, therefore and upon ten (10) days notice in writing, sent by email to the resident at the above address, the Landlord may retake possession of the unit and sell the contents thereof to satisfy all monies due to the Landlord for arrears of rent, cleaning, and/or damage charges and all other associated costs. NSF Cheques: any bounced payments shall be subject to an additional charge of $25 each.
  • The resident hereby agrees to rent from the Landlord, c/o Domus Inc., the locker premises located at 190 Sherwood Forest Square, London, ON commencing on the 1st day of the month of the selected term for a 4-month period at a rental rate of $200. Payment must be made at the | w front desk in advance of possession. How do you plan to make a payment?

Internet

Your stay at the | w includes premium Rogers WIFI internet! Your move-in package will have your login info. Having technical difficulties? Visit http://comuhelp.com/thew/ or call 1-888-862-4750 to start a support ticket. Please note, you will be required to leave a message when you call and an agent will review and get back to you by phone or email.

Subletting

Subletting your suite is an option if you are going to be travelling elsewhere during your lease. You are welcome to sublet to another student (reminder: our rooms are single-occupancy only) for a period of 1 month or longer.

When you find a subletter, it’s a good idea to put your agreement in writing. Complete a Sublet Contract Template and then fill out a Sublet Form below to communicate the arrangement to our team. The | w management must know who is residing in our buildings due to fire code & communication reasons. Your sublet must be approved.

Please note, you are still the tenant, and you are now acting like a “landlord” for your subletter. You will continue to pay rent to your landlord, and you are responsible for collecting rent from your subletter.

Subletting can be successful fall, winter and spring! Advertise early, make the effort to respond to interested parties in a timely manner and always post photos with your ads.

Damages

Our Damages Chargeback List can be viewed here. All residents should be aware that upon move-out, their suite should be left in a tidy state with no damages. Residents will be charged back, as per the list, for any damages, furniture replacement or extra cleaning required.

Noise Complaint

Quiet Hours begin at 11PM every night. Experiencing a noise disturbance? We highly recommend first talking with your neighbour face-to-face to let them know how they are impacting you and kindly asking them to be more mindful. Often times in shared living situations, people don’t always know how they impact other people nearby. Give them the chance to improve. If an issue persists, please issue a Noise Complaint to service@thewlondon.com including suite, date, time and details. If immediate assistance is required, you can contact the after-hours City of London Municipal Law Enforcement office. Click here to be redirected for further info.

Fire

  • In the event of a fire alarm, please exit the building.
  • Did you know it’s against the law to tamper with the smoke detector in your suite? Never tamper with, cover or remove your smoke detector or you could be fined. Contact service@thewlondon.com immediately if there is an issue with your smoke detector.

Garbage & Recycling

Tenants must dispose of their garbage & recycling in the provided moloks located outside the building (located at the front side of the building). Keep your suite clean & clear of full garbage bags or recycling containers to avoid issues with insects or pests. Remove your garbage frequently and make sure to  sort garbage from recycling and put in the properly labeled bins.

If you are found leaving your garbage surrounding the bins, you will be charged a cleaning fee.

Access

Residents enter all areas of the | w with their own unique code.  Do not give your code to anyone else to maintain security into your building, unit, and room.  And remember, your guests are free to use the | w’s amenities but must be accompanied by you.  Guests are your responsibility!

Laundry

the | w is proud to offer convenient laundry facilities in every suite! Remember to use detergents with the HE symbol to prevent damages/leaks.

TIP

  • Clean the lint traps regularly to avoid fire hazards! Simply locate the square lint trap located inside the bottom of the dryer drum, pull it out, clean the lint, and replace when done.  This also ensures your clothes dry in the shortest amount of time.

Clogs

As a tenant, you are responsible for:

  • Unclogging your toilet
  • Unclogging your sink or shower drains

Bikes

Bike storage is free! Bike storage will be available in the basement of the amenity building. While the area is secure entry only and will be equipped with security cameras, the | w management is not responsible for any theft or damage that could occur.  Make sure your bike is locked up at all times. Note: bikes are not allowed to be stored in stairwells, corridors, elevators, or in your unit.

TIPS

  • Get a good bike lock We don’t recommend cable locks.
  • Store your bike indoors; we do not recommend storing your bike outside overnight.

Smoking

Smoking of any kind on the premises, on any terrace, or within 5 meters of any door, window or air intake is expressly prohibited & will result in a $200 fine. Smoking includes use of any tobacco, marijuana, or similar products (including e-cigarettes), whose use generates smoke or vapour.

  • No smoking allowed within 5 meters of entrances and exits
  • No smoking allowed anywhere within the building, including suites & balconies

In the interest of the health of our residents, as well as the quality of indoor air and enjoyment of the premises, the | w is a smoke-free environment. As per our lease, there is a zero tolerance no-smoking policy indoors, on terraces, and near all entry doors. All complaints regarding smoking will be investigated and addressed. Ultimately, residents will be fined and if necessary, evicted. Respect your neighbours.

Mail

Letter mail and packages can be mailed to your building address. Each building has a mailbox area on the 1st floor, located inside the main entrance.

BBQ Rental

Check back in next spring for details on renting the BBQ on the terrace located outside the amenity building.

Shuttle

the | w is proud to offer direct-to-Western shuttle service during peak times of the school day!

The shuttle will pick up/drop off residents outside the main entrance of the | w parking lot and go directly to campus, dropping off at roundabout on Lambton Drive and picking up at the FIMS Nursing building on Huron Drive See campus map. 

The schedule is subject to change to benefit our residents and our onsite team will communicate any schedule changes as quickly as possible. The shuttle will pick up/drop off residents outside the main entrance of the | junction at the bus shelter.

Have a maintenance request? We are happy to help! Fill out the Maintenance Request Form below or email us at service@thewlondon.com. Our goal is to get back to you within 24 hours or sooner.

Renter’s Insurance

Renter’s Insurance is a requirement for living at the | w.

You can find full details here along with contact info for purchasing a renter’s insurance package from Duuo.

Visitor Parking

Visitor parking is available, please fillout the application form below. Residents must register visitor’s vehicles. You will need to submit your guest’s name, license plate number, car make, model and colour. Please also include the day(s) that parking is required, maximum 2 nights.

Note: Submitting a visitor parking request does not guarantee a parking spot. Fill the form out only if you have secured a visitor parking spot & will be staying overnight. Please note residents cannot park in visitor parking; they must purchase parking or park in available spots on the road.

  • Visitor parking is first come, first served. Any guest of a resident may use our visitor parking spots for a maximum of 8 hours without registering. Any guest staying longer than 8 hours OR overnight in visitor parking must fill out this request form or risk being towed.

    Please note, only fill out this form if you have already secured a visitor parking spot and are staying longer than 8 hours and/or overnight. If none are currently available, you will need to make alternative arrangements.
